
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Jaga Kalia Charitable Foundation (JKCF), a government-registered organization, inaugurated a free tailoring training center. In this regard, the inaugural meeting was held on the premises of Raghunath Jiu Temple, Solampur, under Bhandaripokhari Block. This initiative aims to empower rural women by making them self-reliant. The grand inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon.
The event was coordinated by journalist Biswambhar Rout, while the Founder Director & Chairman of JKCF, Scientist & Adv. Umakanta Jena, inaugurated the event. In his address, Shri Jena briefed the gathering about the vision, mission, and objectives of JKCF, highlighting its commitment to serving society, especially in rural areas and among the underprivileged. He emphasized the importance of skill development in empowering women and ensuring financial independence.
Shri Jena also informed that JKCF aims to train youth in various other skills, such as plumbing, masonry, art and craft, and fruit and vegetable preservation techniques, to enable them to become self-sufficient and economically independent.
Other notable guests included writer Bandana Sahu, senior woman Savitri Devi, trainer Subasini Samal, social workers Prasanna Deo, Tarakanta Ghadai, Ramakanta Sahu, Panchanan Sahu, Guru Charan Nayak, and Sarat Chandra Jena, all of whom praised Mr. Jena for this noble initiative.
There was tremendous enthusiasm among young girls and women, as more than 50 women from nearby areas registered for the training program and actively participated in operating sewing machines. On this occasion, the Foundation distributed free napkins, notebooks, and pens to the trainees. Additionally, senior woman Savitri Devi was felicitated by the Foundation in recognition of her contributions.
During the event, Foundation member Prabhat Kumar Jena introduced the guests, while member Biswaranjan Jena delivered the vote of thanks. The entire program was successfully managed by the Foundation’s team members. The event concluded with snacks being served to all attendees, making it a memorable and inspiring gathering for everyone.
